Yassou'

Greece is such a beautiful country. We just got back from our trip and can't begin to explain how amazing a time we had. We were there two weeks, and were busy traveling or seeing something every day. We went to Athens, Monevassia, Elephoniso, Mystra, Naplio, Gythio, Koumousta, Stephania, and Xerocabi. These places all either had a mountain or beach view that could take your breath away. I met a lot of Mia's family who were all very loving and welcoming. The beaches had crystal clear water and the mountains were amazing as well. I am attaching just some of the pics from the trip. If you have never been to this beautiful country, it needs to be put on your list!!

Theres just Something about a "Handy Man"

The past couple of days, my hubby has been off of work- and was given some "manly jobs" to do around the house. He has been in the yard the past 2 days cutting down weeds the size of trees- and yes- building me a box to plant me a garden. By nature my wonderful husband is not a hands on kinda guy- so I was very impressed to see the skill he has been hiding away from me. It seemed like such a "husbandy" kind of task for him to do- and I must say it had me smiling and looking at him in a new light! I guess the way husbands like their wives to cook and clean... we like our husbands to do yard work and hammer stuff! I say that's a pretty fair trade off... wouldn't you say ladies?

Planting a Garden

So my beautiful wife gets this GREAT idea that she wants to grow her own herbs at our house. Me, being a simple minded man, wonders what the hell is wrong with Publix or Food Lion's herbs. But I guess it is just something that men can't understand. So I get to dig up perfectly good grass (which we don't have much of), hammer/nail together 2x4s, buy a whole ton of dirt and plants, get really dirty and sweaty, and plant her a little herb garden so she will be happy. At the end of the day I must say....it does look pretty good.

Boat Love...

There is something special about boat love. It seems to be a universal love embedded in us from birth. I don't care about race, age, or gender...any boater passing a fellow boater will take the 2 seconds and wave to each other as they pass by. What a wonderful random act of kindness displayed on the waters....inlets, creeks, and oceans alike have boat love being displayed every day.
Why can't everyone be this way? If we would all take the 2 seconds and just wave to people as we pass them by in the car, or at Wal-Mart, or wherever we happen to be, the special boat love could be spread from the water to all mankind!!

Sweet Tea...and Vodka?

You just gotta love the south. Where the people are friendly, the weather is never too cold, and sweet tea is the always served with any and every meal. But what is so amazing is that I recently have had the amazing opportunity to sample a new alcoholic beverage that uses real sweet tea...its called Sweet Tea Vodka!! Holy crap right? It is so good!! You mix half lemonade and half Sweet Tea Vodka and you have a drink that will blow your mind. It doesn't even taste like alcohol. Instead, it tastes like the sweet tea your Grandma used to make!
I am gonna post the link to the site where you can get more info on this fabulous commodity. It is made about 20 miles south of Charleston, SC. You can buy it almost anywhere in SC and even some places in NY, Colorado, GA, and i think FL. Anyway, go try it out. Support the South and enjoy the sweet goodness!!

Livin' for the weekend...

I have never truley embrassed this saying until recently. While working as an RN the past few years, my schedule was never Monday thru Friday, 9-5 like most people. I would have a day off here, two off there...but now it is so different. Getting up at 4:45 AM five days a week really makes you appreciate those two days in a row where you can sleep in and do what ever it is that you want to do. I'm not really sure what the point of this blog is, other than to express how truely excited I am for each and every weekend that comes and goes. I will be laying by the pool or watchin a good movie this weekend, maybe even doin a little bar hoppin...how about you?

First Ever Blog...

Well, here it goes. My first ever blog. I'm not really sure what to write about. Currently, I am at work, waiting for 3pm to hurry up and get here so I can go home. That is one thing I really hate about the Healthcare industry is that we work 365 days a year....no holidays and no weekends. So this happens to be my weekend to work. Not only is it a weekend, but my wife is out of town and it's Father's Day. What a crappy day to be working. But I am not really working am I? I am sitting here at this computer typing crap no one really wants to read anyway. Oh yeah, my little dog is home all alone right now as well. Its raining outside so he has probably opted to skip going outside to urinate and pissed all over the house instead, which I will get to clean since Mia is gone. :-) I am normally not so negative...i am a really happy, blessed guy. But I hate working on weekends...
